The Steps in creating the card
(click on the first image to view as a slideshow)
- 1. Cut your card to 7x7” and Measure 3cm approx in from each edge of your card on both sides top and bottom and mark a spot with a pencil then using the masking tape line it up and mask off the central area. Lay the coral stencil across the centre and secure with tape at the top to help prevent it moving.
- 2. Then using your blending brush or sponge take a little of the olive elements and in a circular motion smooth gently over stencil. Ok a tip about the elements. (I have not used them before), they are extremely juicy moreso than any other pad I have used so I would advise using a craft mat and gently placing ink pad upside down just press lightly leaving behind some ink and then take up your ink from this area on craft mat. Less is more in the first instance. You can add more a lot easier than taking it away. When complete you should end up with picture as below.
- 3. Then take your stamp block or a stamping platform, (I use Tim Holtz stamping platform) ink up your stamp using Versafine Clare nocturne and align your stamp roughly in the centre of the stencilled coral.
- 4. Then taking a small paint brush take up some of the elements blue lagoon and gently paint the mermaids body and tail.
- 5. The using a little glue add some blobs to the mermaid’s body and tail where you would like it to go and sprinkle with the holographic glitter or glitter of your choice. Shake off the excess.
- 6. The using your stamp platform or stamping block place the sea tangle in turn on the edges of your stencilled coral using the Versafine Clare shady lane.
- 7. Take your fish set and place the fish top right and bottom left as per your own choice. When stamped colour your fish and the sea tangle in with your coloured pencils also colour Zelith’s hair with a colour of your choice.
- 8. Finally using the black piece of card or card colour of your choice mount your picture ready to place on your greetings card or into a journal. I hope you have enjoyed this step by step and just have fun.
