The Steps in Creating the Card
(click on the first image to view as a slideshow)
- I started with an old mop up background that I had done some time ago using a mixture of distress inks in blue and lilac tones.
- Add a moon using the Lavinia Stamps acetate circle with chipped sapphire distress ink.
- Here you can see the moon has been sponged using a rounded dauber.
- Stamp three small swing bed images using the versamark ink pad and Wow opaque vanilla white embossing powder.
- All stamped, sprinkled with the embossing powder, and heated to set.
- Add a touch of Victorian Velvet distress ink around the images to add a pop of pink.
- Then go over with Stormy Sky distress ink, adding the Victorian Velvet and Stormy Sky increases the lovely lilac tones.
- The distress inks have also darkened the background slightly to show up the beautiful white embossing more.
- Stamp the tree hives inside the swings using Versafine Clair medieval blue.
- Use the Lavinia acetate hill mask to mark the ground using the stencil brush and Versafine Clair medieval blue.
- Shows you the added ground level.
- Add a little more ink to the ground to fill it in and some diluted yellow brusho around the hives for added glow.
- In come Rory and Darcy in Versafine Clair Nocturne. Highlight them with some white pen.
- Stamp the Lilium stamp twice in Versafine Clair medieval blue - I didn’t feel the need to colour them in.
- Use the straight edge of the acetate hill mask with mustard seed distress ink, rotating the straight edge around the central swing to add some light strobes.
- Add the faerie spells sentiment stamp in Versafine Clair medieval blue (I added it in two places where I felt the gap needed filling).
- Added some white puffy stuff to the ground level and heated it to puff it up and some white posca pen splatters.
- Finished card. Matted on to black card and layered on to a white A5 card (a piece of A4 card folded in half).
I hope that you enjoyed this tutorial, and maybe have a go yourself.
Stay safe and well.
