Favourite Florals by Elaine Langford-Pugh

Step by Step by Elaine Langford-Pugh 💚

Hi everyone, I do hope all is good with you all.  I am honoured to be able to share my Step by Step Tutorial with you hopefully as inspiration for the monthly Lavinia Creative Challenge.  The theme for May is ‘’Favourite Florals’’.  I have chosen to use Orchids as the entire focus for my project.  It was one of my mother’s favourite flowers and a firm favourite of mine.

  1. I used a piece of 7×7 inch Multifarious card trimmed down to  6.75 inch square.  Using Lavinia low tack tape  I masked off around the edges and put another piece just below halfway down the page. Please check the picture for placement.

2. Using Elements ink Della Blue and a size 9 stencil brush I blended around the edges, inside the taped areas and repeated the process until I’d achieved the desired effect.

  1. I repeated the process using Elements ink Violet Chalk again until I’d achieved the

desired effect as per the photo.

  1. I coloured Fairy Orchid Stamps LAV547and Single Fairy Orchid LAV548 using

Kuretake Zig Clean Colour Real Brush pens Green 040, Light Violet 081, Purple 082

and Lilac 083.  I then lightly spritzed with water and stamped one so that the stalk

started in the lower section and the flower was in the upper section.

  1. I continued the process using both sets of the Orchid stamps. I stamped the smaller

flowers so they were in the lower section.

  1. I removed the low tack masking tape and stamped the Orchids outside of the

blended areas.

7. Using Versafine Monarch I stamped Birthday Wishes from Heartfelt Verses LAV677

through the middle. Please see the photograph for placement.

  1. Using Multifarious card for matting/to create a backing card, I coloured round the

edges using Kuretake Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Pen Lilac 083 to tie in with the

images.

9. I put the front panel aside to decorate the 8×8 inch card base using the Lavinia

Flower Spray stencil and Elements Ink Violet Chalk in opposite corners.

  1. I edged the matt using Kuretake Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Pen Deep

Violet 084 to tie in with the design. I stamped Flutterby Mini LAV444 with the same

Kuretake Zig Clean Colour Brush pens I had used for the orchids. For the

Orchard Grass LAV672 I used Green 040 and Olive Green 043.

  1. Here is my finished project with the finishing touches using Silver Uni-ball Gel pen

with a touch of glossy accents over the top. I put the Glossy Accents on using a

cocktail stick!

I do hope you enjoyed my tutorial as much as I enjoyed making it for you.

Much love to you all.
