The work at Plas Coch is starting to turn a corner. Where we had been taking things away and discovering the property’s hidden depths, now we are starting to put it all back together.
So we weren’t expecting this.
First there was some flaking plaster. A little of the plaster had been removed and some letters were peeking out from underneath.
There is some debate as to whether its DL or DD with the second D slightly eroded.

To try and work out what was carved into the wall I took a photograph and printed it out and then coloured it in red. Please see below.
As we looked up and around the now exposed wall you could see more evidence of the past. There were lots of wonderful marks there surrounding the words.
The question was, were we looking at graffiti? This needed further investigation.
