Every morning as I drive into work I pass Plas Coch. It’s a lovely view, however one morning it was made even more special by this exclamation:
“Why, on earth, are there men in white suits on the roof?”
This was not something I ever thought I would say! Neither did I think that the view was something I would ever see – it reminded me of a 1980’s pop music video!
So with my ears ringing with the tune to the song ” They’re coming to take me away” (by Napoleon XIV) I made a plan! Naturally I needed to know what was going on, as this was not a normal occurrence in picturesque Ruthin, so I arranged to visit Plas Coch the same afternoon.
The men in white suits were still on the roof and waved at me as I took a photograph of them. It was on my arrival into the building that I was informed that these gentlemen were specialists in fitting suspended ceilings. As they were in the process of pulling down old ceilings, covering their clothes to avoid as much of the dust as possible, seemed like a cunning plan !
By sheer bad timing I managed to see the removal of part of the ceiling which I thought you might enjoy!
