We often wondered how the plaque on the outside of Plas Coch found its way onto the wall.
Well…now we know.
Apparently many moons ago the plaque was discovered inside the building and one member of the club offered to gold leaf the lettering before it was put up.
This was no ordinary member of the club. This offer came from a highly skilled local craftsman.
Let me introduce you to Glyn Hughes who was a skilled sign writer who lived in Ruthin.
In this photograph you can see Glyn is perched next to a sign he has made for Trefnant.
It takes a special sort of skill and a very steady hand to hold a paint brush and create something as neat and legible as you can see in the photograph.
Glyn was a very clever and artistic man, as not only did he paint the sign but he also made the beautiful ironwork surround too.
Glyn found a dilapidated old board in Llanfwrog Church and instead of repairing the board, he made a completely new board and copied it to the letter.
That is the mark of a master craftsman.
It is amazing to think that this is the face of the man who added the gold leaf to plaque on the outside of Plas Coch.
He will forever be part of the magic of The Dreamatorium.
