Today, design team member Sarah Anderson shows us how to make and decorate these gorgeous little tins that can be used to store all sorts of things.
Or in this case, to keep a set of affirmation cards in matching and complimentary designs.
Sarah has used the Pumpkin Pad from our new “Spellbinding” range of stamps as the point of focus, along with the new “Blessings” word stamp.
Step-by-Step
- Step 1: Take an A6 piece of Multifarious card, lay the Divine stencil over the top and sprinkle your Dinkles! I used Mustard Seed, Burnt Orange and Brown.
- Step 3: Lift off the stencil and lay it, wet side down, on a second A6 piece of Multifarious card. Use some kitchen roll to mop up any excess colour from your first piece.
- Step 4: You now have an extra piece of card for your next tin, or for creating affirmation cards within this project.
- Step 5: Once the first card is dry (you can speed this up using a heat tool), turn it over, lay the tin on top and mark the curved corners. Trim along the lines formed.
- Step 7: Stamp it a second time onto good quality copier paper and colour it using Elements Russet Orange. I add some ink to an acrylic block and spritz it with water to use with a paintbrush.
- Step 8: Use Elements Truffle to paint some ground for the pumpkin to be sitting on as well as the stem.
- Step 10: Using Versafine Clair Pinecone stamp some text onto the background. I used ‘Blesslings’ from the Moon Signs set.
- Step 11: Using Elements Truffle, add colour around the edge of the card using a stencil brush. Dip a paintbrush into the pot of Gold ‘Drop of Shimmer’ and tap it to add gold splatter to the card. Using a gold posca pen is also an option.
- Step 12: Stamp ‘Blesslings’ onto a piece of good quality copier paper and select some words to cut out.
- Step 14: Add your chosen words to the card then adhere it to the top of the tin with Bippity Boppity Glue.
Add these cards inside your tin and keep them for times when you need a reminder of how wonderful you are or as a gift to a friend who may need to hear how brilliant they are.
