In today’s tutorial, Tracey continues the winter theme with a stunning tag design featuring one of Lavinia’s classic and much-loved stamps, the Druid’s Inn.
Working on a watercolour card tag, Tracey demonstrates how to use Distress Micro Glaze to protect parts of the image while over-spraying with Mysticals Mica Mineral Spray. This technique creates a beautifully dappled background in blue hues—a perfect nod to this month’s Lavinia Creative Challenge, Blue Hues.
The intricate details of the Druid’s Inn are brought to life using Posca Pens and Gel Pens. To enhance the design, Tracey stamps cascading foliage using Versafine Clair Twilight ink, and then adds a second layer of depth with more foliage stamped in Versamark Watermark Ink, finished with a sprinkling of Wow! Embossing Powder in Opaque Vanilla White.
An additional touch of sparkle was added with a glue pen and the iridescent blues and greens of Mermaid Eco Glitter.
