This card is using the Joseph Coat Technique using a white card with ink and clear embossing powder. Such a fun technique and you can use this technique for anything like Birthdays or Celebrations.

The Steps in creating “Ash and Autumn”

You will need to cut a piece of white card to fit slightly smaller than a C5 card blank. I cut my card to roughly 13½ cm x 20cm. With the colours Peeled Paint, Wild Honey and Fired Brick. I blended them around the card with a smoothie. I didn’t go into the middle as that would be covered with a panel later.

With a Versamark pad or any other type of clear embossing pad I stamped the Oak leaf around the edge of the card and sprinkled the Clear Gloss Embossing powder over it and heat set it with a heat gun.

This is when the magic happens. With the Black Soot and a smoothie, blend the ink all over your card. As the distress oxide is water based it won’t stay on the areas you have used the clear embossing powder. Once you have blended the black soot you will need a soft cloth to buff it up the leaves.

Matt and layer the background onto a C5 cardblank. I used Cream and red card with my matting rulers.

For the middle panel I cut a card blank measuring roughly 9cm x 14½cm. Used the Fossilized amber to do the background, by using a blending matt and pressing the ink onto the blending matt and spritzing it with water. Then used the card to pick up the colour.

I used Peeled paint with a blending brush to do the ground.

Using the Oak leaf stamped I stamped it a few times at the top of the card in the colours I used to do the back panel with. With a small circle and a blending brush I used Fossilized Amber to make the sun.

I then stamped Ash in the Nocturne before I stamped the Field Grass in peeled paint and the Red Leaves verse in Nocturne. Then with a Weathered Wood and a blending brush, I blended the colour over the Laurel stencil

I stamped the little leaves in 2nd generation of Fired Brick ink and stamped some falling down. With the blending brush I gently blended around the edge of the card.

With a white pen I started to work on Ash to do the highlights on his chest, ear and the tip of his tail. Then a bit of highlight on his legs and the leaves. Used the Stardust pen around the sun. Matt and layered with some cream and red card.

Added some foam strips and doubled layer it up to give a bit more height. And stuck it to the background panel.

Added some Liquid pearls. Used the Gold on the field grass and on the leaves I used the red and Gold Liquid Pearls.
