The Snow Globe
Hello again, Leesa here with a quick and easy creation. It’s a snow globe winter scene. As our winters are not always snowy, I thought this globe can be in an icy glass snow globe. I hope you enjoy creating this one, I really enjoyed putting this together for you.
I can’t wait to see your creations! 🙂
Picture 1
On some 6 x 6 white multifarious card I stamped the cork stamp LAV906 Versafine Clair Fallen Leaves and used this as my base for the globe. I then used the acetate circle masks, the largest cut out, placing it so it sat on the cork base. Then I gently blended some Distress Oxide Pumice Stone to give me the shape of the globe and used the edge of the series 7 stencil brush to do this.

I decided on a traditional globe effect with trees and a cottage. First, I stamped Snowy Fir Tree Small LAV929 on the left in Versafine Clair Shady Lane. Next, I protected the tree with masking fluid using the frisk brush set and allowed it to fully dry.Â
Picture 3
Once dry I stamped Meadow Cottage LAV 934 in Versafine Clair Fallen Leaves, again adding masking fluid and allowing to fully dry. Then I stamped the final tree, the Snowy Fir Tree LAV 930, in Versafine Clair Shady Lane. Remember to wipe off excess ink between each stamp where the masking fluid is.

Using Zig clean colour pens I started to colour in the Meadow Cottage LAV 934 in warm yellows and orange tones, to give a nice glow. I then used my Mondeluz watercolour pencils on the base, a light medium and dark brown, but you can use any colour combination you wish. Next, I added some white acrylic chalk paint on the trees and around the cottage, I used the detail brush 5/0 to give tiny strokes for the falling icicles on the cottage. I also used Elements ink Blue Denim to ground the cottage and trees, by using a series 3 stencil brush.
Picture 5
I stamped in 2nd generation stamping, LAV 928 Small Robins in Versafine Clair Fallen Leaves, at the edge to give a fuller look inside the globe. I decided to place our little robin on the right hand outer edge of the globe, so with my Mondeluz watercolour pencils added the browns, red and light grey to make a start on the robin. I then added white posca pen splats inside the globe, I did put on the circle mask to keep the splats contained to the inside of the globe.
Picture 6
I added water to the paper first, then added some Elements ink Blue Atoll and Dark Denim and with my  series 3 stencil brush moved the ink about. As you can see this gives a fabulous effect of ice and coldness. I decided to add the other little robin from LAV 928 Small Robins and with my No7 stencil brush added Elements ink to the outer edge.

I love adding foliage to my creations. I added the following stamps to build up a natural area. I stamped LAV 683 Foliage set using Versafine Clair Shady Lane. Next, I stamped LAV741 and LAV698 Flora set in Versafine Clair Fallen Leaves. I added some white posca splats to give the look of falling snow.
Picture 8
I then wanted to have the reflection on the globe so with a brush I moved the ink on the globe and used paper tissue to remove some, to give the illusion of a reflection in the globe. To give some life to the flowers I added Posca orange and light orange to give the flowers a more colourful look with a light dab of white posca for a highlight. I completed the little robin with Mondeluz Watercolour pencils to give him some life.

Final bits!  I went over LAV 928 Small Robins with my Mondeluz watercolour pencils to make sure they looked as though they were outside the globe. To complete the card, I matt and layered using We R Memory layer guides with card that compliments the colours used. Next, I added glitter in the globe as all the layers are done. I added Waterfall Stickles, it gives such a sparkly effect. This is such a fabulous card to give out to friends or family, just add your sentiment and you’re all done!

Hope you enjoyed creating this card, I can’t wait to see your version of this. Remember to add lots of sparkle! ✨
