No! Everybody relax…these green people are in protective suits and cleaning the beams.
The beams were stripped using a low pressure specialised soda blasting method.
This gentle and non-abrasive method doesn’t remove any original marks like carpenters marks and carvings.
To the left you can see an example of the before and after.
Once the thick black stain of years past were removed you could see the marks made by the workmen of times past.
They look almost like birds feet.
These marks were made so they could work out which bit went where.
