A Light in the Darkness

On one visit I was struck by how much lighter the back bar area was. There was a pocket of light where previously there had only been a timber ceiling.

What was this new light source?

The light source was the sky, I would say the sun, but that was absent!

The space had been made in the ceiling for the new skylight, or sky lantern to give them their proper name.

These were the large pieces of glass that Tracey and I had witnessed being delivered.

As I stood underneath it I spotted the team were on the roof above.

Although the sky lanterns didn’t go in immediately, I was able to pop back and snap a picture of them in situ.

They will make such a difference to the space.

These pockets of light were appearing everywhere that had once been dark.

There were beams of light in storerooms that had previously needed artificial light.

Perhaps the most striking space was the covered walkway.

The addition of the two long sky lanterns illuminated the corridor. It’s wonderful to be able to see the sky above without the physical effect of the traditional Welsh weather!
