Step by Step by Marja Nanninga
Hello everyone, it’s Marja here! Today I am sharing a step-by-step tutorial with you called “Keep Smiling.” I hope you enjoy it.
Step 1
Using a piece of A5 multifarious card, I have trimmed a piece to 15cm x 20cm
Step 2
Using a stencil brush (series 9) blend Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass from the top to two thirds of the way down the card.
Step 3
Next blend Distress Oxide Scorched Timber from the bottom of the card up to a third of the page, to meet with the blending we did in step 2.
Step 4
Now, in Versafine Clair Fallen Leaves, stamp the top part of the Olivia Large stamp (LAV744) without the wings or the flower at the top of the seedhead. See the picture for placement.
Step 5
Now create a half-moon as a skirt with Titanium white Pan Pastel. See the picture for placement.
Step 6
Then stamp only the flower, not the stem from the large flower, of Wild Summer Flower stamp set LAV749 at the bottom of the skirt. Now fill in the skirt with the small stamp.
Step 7
Next take a roll of tape, squeeze it slightly into an oval and draw the top of the umbrella. Then draw the lines in the umbrella and stamp the edge at the bottom with the small flower from The Wild Summer Flower stamp set LAV749. Stamp more of the tops of the small wild summer flower in Fallen Leaves to fill in the skirt.
Step 8
Using the same two Distress Oxides as the background, colour in the skirt and the umbrella. For this I used stencil brush series 3. Next stamp the window behind it in 2nd generation stamping Versafine Clair Fallen Leaves.
Step 9
Next stamp in Versafine Clair Fallen Leaves, Silver Leaves Mini LAV891 in second generation stamping around the Arch. See the picture for placement. Then stamp in Versafine Clair Warm Breeze some Lucky Clover Mini LAV889 in the skirt. Lightly blend some Distress Oxide Scorched Timber around the arch. Colour in Olivia using a black Posca pen, this will make her appear more solid. Using some ripped paper create a ground for Olivia to stand on by blending some Distress Oxide Scorched Timber with a stencil brush series 3.
Step 10
Stamp the sentiment Forbidden Secrets LAV878 along the edge in Versafine Clair Fallen Leaves. Then with a White Posca pen outline the arm that is not holding the umbrella and add an eye to Olivia. Outline the arch with white Posca and add highlights to the stone edging. See the photo for placement. Using gold Uniball broad pen add dots to the edge of the umbrella and lines highlight the line on the umbrella too. Add touches of Stickles Cayman to the top of the umbrella, to the bodice of the dress and dots to the skirt. Please see photo for placement.
Step 11
Mount your card and add the sentiment Keep Smiling LAV740. Stamp it in Versafine Clair Fallen Leaves in the bottom right hand side of the card. Your card is now complete!
