Thank you for your comment, I actually use chalks for all my backgrounds.
I apply with cotton wool to get an even coverage, you can blend and mix them really well and it gives them a soft, subtle feel.
I would love to try the brayering technique but I need to start collecting all the ink pads! This is an effective low cost way of getting a similar look. And it’s quite quick too, I love the stamping more than creating the background so it’s perfect for me!
I’ve just used a pale pink, purple and green at the bottom. From a palette of blending chalks.
