Welcome to our very first Newsletter

Thank you for your patience on our very first news letter.

We intend making this a regular feature to keep you up to date with the latest designs and developments here at Lavinia Stamps – and in the stamping world in general!

Exhibitions

One of the most popular features on our website is the Readers Gallery. There are some truly amazing cards that people have made, why not join them and send your master pieces in? we would love to see them.

Craft Stamper Magazine

Keep your eyes peeled for the October issue of Craft Stamper i have an article on ”Autumn Scenes” with a step by step that i am hoping you will all enjoy.

You will need this pack of three stamps to complete this card.

I have also used a pack of smaller leaves to pop in between as you can see from the picture below, but this is totally optional, you could in fact use other stamps just to fill in the spaces.

This is the final image, amazing what a bit of colour can do.

So look out for the article and you too can make a card like this one, along with many other examples celebrating the colourful aspects of Autumn.

New Designs

During August we will be designing a new range of stamps, more Fairies, more Scenic, more Christmas….i hope,so by September fingers crossed i will have them available to sell on the website and at our future shows.

……And Finally

Great news!!! …… we will be at the Harrogate show…we have been allocated a space…, we are in a different spot to normal Stand number D1, so mark it down on the calender, 11th and 12th of September, and come and see us, we would love to see you there.

I used the same technique as for the baby is born card. Stamping and clear embossing the poppies onto the corner of a portrait piece of A4 card. I liked the shiney effect it gives the flowers . I then did the same for the background and ink using the brayer and stonewashed. A couple of lavinia stamp butterflies in imperial purple hid stray ink marks. Having assembled the card I then finished off with a Martha Stewart butterfly stam and punch, using Versafine Black for the stamp and amethyst promarker to colour in.

A baby is born – Using a selection of the poppy stamps, the baby fairy and leaf trail. After a little trial and error my final technique was to stamp up the poppy images with versa mark watermark stamp pad, then ink up the poppies using Versafine – spanish moss / satin red or olympia green / crimson red. Once I was happy with my poppies I then sprinkled with clear embossing powder and heated. I then used the leaf trail and imperial purple to frame the top of the card. Finally I stamped the baby fairy in the middle and also created a mask on a post it note. I then used a brayer and inked Adirondack stonewashed over the bottom half and sunshine yellow / red pepper over the top. I finished off with some stars in Versafine smokey grey.

These are all the beautiful free stamps I got with Craft Stamper magazine. I stippled the inks on as I find I keep getting lines with the brayer. Used distress inks pumice stone and tumbled glass and Adirondack Twilight Lavender.

Lovely card Liz, keep practising with the Brayer….if you are getting lines take more ink off, you will master it.

I used my trusty brayer along with Citrus and Purple Twilight inks for the background of this card. The stamps were the Horse and Carriage, Bullrushes, Christmas tree group and the Vine …. I really had fun making this.
