I have had a few people contact me regarding the technique of Brayering and a few of you experience lines on your card, and have tried everything to get rid of them some of you have had to walk away in pure frustration…….,i do sympathize i am a little like that with computors….Anyway its down to one simple thing TO MUCH INK ON THE ROLLER , once you have inked your roller up make sure the area that you are using on your roller is completely covered, then on a scrap piece of A4 paper take the ink back off three or four times the length of the scap paper, so there is no surface ink on the roller left, now you can start using the Brayer on your card.
if youwant a stronger colour just repeat the above process dont be tempted to put a whole load more ink on, you wil just end up in one big mess……..
Your card is important i use matt card but it still needs to be very smooth …no texture almost silky.
Use a one way movement…..not backwards and forwards.
Its really that simple…. if anyone has any other questions please email me,and i will do what i can to help,
in the mean time i hope this helps some frustated people out there……
xx

Hi
Do you put both colours on the brayer at the same time?
many thanks
Lisa
I saw you at the exhibition in Wrexham and then at the NEC. I had lines on my brayering and you showed me at the NEC how to avoid this (just as detailed above) and it works, I now have lovely smooth backgrounds. Thank you so much. I love making fairy cards and people love recieving them too. I’ve now added lots more stamps to my Christmas list so here’s hoping!!!
